DESIGNING FROM THE BEGINNING
I believe good design begins with looking carefully.
Before choosing a colour, material, or piece of furniture, consider the space itself: its proportions, light, architecture, history, and how it might be lived in.
My approach brings together my background in architecture, interior design, and art to consider these elements as one whole. I am interested in creating interiors that feel authentic to the people who inhabit them, while responding to the character and materiality of the place.
The decisions made at the beginning of a project can have the greatest impact on its outcome. A considered conversation at this stage can help test ideas, identify potential challenges and establish a clearer direction before significant time, budget or construction is committed.

WHAT THE CONSULTATION OFFERS
The value of the consultation lies in the depth and breadth of experience brought to the conversation.
As Director of Gaia Starace Design, Gaia Starace draws on a professional background spanning architecture, interior design and art, together with broad experience across spatial planning, materials, colour, kitchens, bathrooms, joinery, furnishing, lighting and art.
The two-hour consultation provides direct access to this breadth of knowledge, applied specifically to the project at hand. Ideas can be tested, assumptions questioned, opportunities identified and possibilities explored across the interior as a whole.
The intention is to provide more than answers to a list of questions. The consultation offers a considered perspective on the project, a clearer sense of what is possible and meaningful direction for what comes next.

INITIAL CONSULTATION
A focused opportunity to discuss your project, explore possibilities and establish clear priorities before moving forward.
Consultations are available on site within the Sydney metropolitan area or online, depending on the project, and allow up to two hours.
$500 + GST | up to 2 hours
For consultations outside the Sydney metropolitan area, an additional travel fee will apply.
CONTINUING DESIGN & ADVISORY
Some projects can be resolved through a single consultation. Others benefit from further guidance as decisions develop.
Further interior design and advisory services are available at:
$275 + GST per hour
For larger projects, a tailored design fee can be prepared according to the scope and requirements of the work.
Transparency is something I value, so my current fees are outlined clearly above.
